There’s something magical about a steaming hot bowl of bulalo. It’s not just food—it’s comfort, warmth, and indulgence all stirred into one. As Ghost Gourmet, I wander from table to table, city to city, quietly tasting and truthfully telling. This time, my spoon dipped into the heart of Al Rigga Restaurant, where their bulalo earned more than just my attention—it earned my recommendation.
Others might say.that their food are not that great but my experience with their Bulalo says otherwise.
First Sip, Lasting Impression
Bulalo has a way of speaking before you even taste it. The aroma alone—rich, meaty, and inviting—hints at hours of slow cooking. When the server placed the bowl in front of me, I couldn’t help but notice the generous serving size. This wasn’t a dish meant to tease. It was meant to satisfy, to fill, to comfort.
The broth was everything a bulalo broth should be: light yet flavorful, soothing without being greasy. It carried the depth of beef shank simmered just right, with hints of pepper dancing around every sip. Paired with crisp vegetables and, of course, the marrow—the real star—it felt like a hug in liquid form.
Service That Matches the Flavor
Credit where it’s due: Al Rigga Restaurant’s staff delivered the dish on time, steaming hot and ready to devour. They were accommodating without being overbearing, striking the right balance between attentiveness and giving you space to enjoy your meal. The ambiance? Simple. Nothing extravagant, but perfectly fine for what truly matters—the food.
My Verdict
If you ask me whether this bulalo is worth trying, my answer is straightforward: yes. The big serving makes it perfect for sharing, but trust me, you’ll be tempted to keep it all to yourself. The flavors are honest, the portion generous, and the experience satisfying.
At the end of the day, it wasn’t the ambiance or even the service that left the deepest mark—it was the bulalo itself. Sometimes, a single dish is enough to make a visit memorable, and for me, Al Rigga Restaurant’s bulalo did just that.
Until my next anonymous bite,
