True discipleship calls us to serve faithfully, not for recognition or reward, but because it is our privilege to obey and honor God. Humility in service is a mark of a heart aligned with His will.

Luke 17:10 says:
“So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.”

Jesus reminds us that obedience is not about earning praise—it is about faithfully carrying out God’s commands. Our reward is not measured by applause, but by the knowledge that we are fulfilling God’s purpose and living according to His will.

Peter experienced this when volunteering at a local shelter. Despite long hours and little recognition, he found joy in simply serving others. Over time, he realized that the true blessing was not in accolades, but in participating in God’s work and reflecting His love to those in need.

Reflection:

  • How do you view your service to God and others—as duty, privilege, or something to earn praise?

  • Are there areas where you need to serve faithfully without expectation of recognition?

  • How can humility guide your daily actions and interactions?

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me serve faithfully and humbly. Teach me to see every act of obedience as a privilege, not for praise but to honor You. May my life reflect Your love and commitment in all that I do. Amen.
