God’s blessings are meant to inspire gratitude. When we recognize His goodness and respond with thankfulness, our hearts are aligned with His grace and mercy.

Luke 17:15–16 says:
“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.”

Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to give thanks. Gratitude acknowledges God as the source of every blessing, and it deepens our relationship with Him. True thankfulness is active—it reaches out, honors, and glorifies God.

Emily realized this when she recovered from a serious illness. Though she felt better, she remembered to return to God in prayer, expressing heartfelt thanks. That simple act renewed her faith and strengthened her trust in His providence.

Reflection:

  • Are there blessings in your life you have taken for granted?

  • How can you cultivate a habit of returning to God with gratitude?

  • What does it look like to honor God with your thankfulness daily?

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to Your blessings and cultivate a heart of gratitude in me. Teach me to return to You with thanks, honoring You in all I receive, and deepening my trust and love for You each day. Amen.
