Nov. 5, 2025 – Wednesday – “The Fulfillment of the Law”
Romans 13:8–10 says: “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments… are summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

Love is the heartbeat of God’s commands. Every law, every instruction, and every teaching of Scripture finds its purpose in love—love for God and love for one another.
Romans 13:8–10 says:
“Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments… are summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”
Paul reminds believers that genuine love naturally fulfills all God’s commands. True obedience isn’t about strict rule-keeping, but about living out the heart of the gospel—selfless, active love that seeks the good of others.
Ethan saw this truth when he helped a neighbor going through hardship. What began as a small act of kindness became a friendship that reflected Christ’s love in action. He realized that love is not just a duty—it’s a daily choice that brings God’s truth to life.
Reflection:
How does love shape the way you live out your faith each day?
Are there relationships where God is calling you to show greater compassion or forgiveness?
What does it look like to “owe” others love in your words and actions?
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for showing me perfect love through Jesus. Teach me to love others as You have loved me—with patience, kindness, and humility. Let my life reflect Your heart, fulfilling Your law through love each day. Amen.
