Jesus often used parables to challenge how we think about stewardship, faithfulness, and wisdom in daily life. In this verse, He reminds us to be discerning and intentional with the opportunities God gives us.

Luke 16:8 says:
“The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.”

Jesus wasn’t praising dishonesty but the manager’s foresight and careful planning. He was urging His followers to live wisely—to use time, resources, and influence with eternal purpose. As God’s children, we are called to be faithful stewards who think ahead and act with integrity, advancing His kingdom through every decision.

Lauren realized this when she began budgeting not just for personal goals, but also to support missions and those in need. What started as financial discipline became an act of worship—an intentional way to honor God with her resources.

Reflection:

  • How can you be more intentional in using what God has entrusted to you—time, talents, or resources?

  • What does it mean to be “shrewd” for God’s kingdom rather than for worldly gain?

  • How can wisdom and integrity guide your daily choices?

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, teach me to live wisely and faithfully. Help me to use every resource, opportunity, and moment to honor You. May my actions reflect eternal purpose and draw others toward Your truth. Amen.
